By the eastern sea in Odisha lives Jagannath - "Lord of the Universe," a wonderful wide-eyed wooden form of Krishna - with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra beside him. Once a year, at the Ratha Yatra, the three ride out of the temple on chariots as tall as buildings, pulled through the streets by thousands of hands - a procession so mighty that it gave English the word "juggernaut," meaning an unstoppable force. Puri is also one of the four Char Dham, the great pilgrimage circle of Bharatavarsha.
