Dwaraka was Krishna's own city - a golden fortress rising out of the western sea, built when he led his people far from Mathura to keep them safe. Before the great war, both Arjuna and Duryodhana raced here to ask for Krishna's help. Krishna offered a choice: his mighty army on one side, or just himself, alone and unarmed, on the other. Duryodhana grabbed the army. Arjuna chose Krishna - and that made all the difference.
