Badrinath (బదరీనాథ్)

Tucked between snow peaks high in the Himalaya, the bright, colorfully painted temple of Badrinath is where Vishnu sits in deep meditation - and in many tellings, Lakshmi became a badri tree to shade him from the harsh mountain sun, which is how the place got its name. This is also remembered as the home of the sages Nara and Narayana, who did tapas here for the good of the world. Badrinath is one of the four Char Dham, the great pilgrimage that touches the four corners of Bharatavarsha.
