Home to the golden city

Krishna's Path, stage 8 of 8: Kurukshetra → Dwaraka

The war is over, the Pandavas are safe on the throne, and Krishna's long work in the world is nearly done. He rides home to Dwaraka by the sea, back to his own people, as the Dvapara age slowly draws toward its close. In many tellings, when Krishna finally leaves the earth, the golden city itself returns quietly to the waves - as if it had only ever been borrowed from the sea.
