A basket across the midnight river
Krishna's Path, stage 1 of 8: Mathura → Vrindavan
On the stormy night Krishna is born, the prison doors swing open on their own, and Vasudeva carries the newborn out in a basket on his head. The flooding Yamuna rises - then parts to let them through, while the great serpent Adisesha spreads his hoods like an umbrella against the rain. By morning, baby Krishna is safe in the cowherd village, far from Kamsa's reach.
