Swargarohini (స్వర్గారోహిణి)

Long after the war, when their work in the world was done, the Pandavas and Draupadi set out on their last journey - the mahaprasthana - walking north into the great Himalaya toward heaven itself. One by one they fell along the icy path, until only Yudhishthira was left, with a small stray dog who had followed him the entire way. Offered a chariot to heaven, Yudhishthira refused to leave the dog behind - and the dog revealed himself to be Yama Dharma, his own father, testing his kindness one final time. This snowy peak is remembered as the "stairway to heaven" where the walk ended.
