Deep in the green Nallamala hills, above a gorge of the Krishna river, stands Srisailam - a place so special it is holy twice over. Shiva lives here as Mallikarjuna, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and Parvati lives beside him as Bhramaramba, one of the great Shakti Peethas - who, in many tellings, once took the form of a bee to defeat a demon. Very few places in all of Bharatavarsha hold a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peetha together, and this one is right in Telugu country.
