Kishkindha (కిష్కింధ)

Kishkindha was the kingdom of the vanaras - the mighty forest people - set among giant golden boulders by the Tungabhadra river. This is where Rama met Hanuman for the very first time, and where he helped Sugriva become king. In return, Sugriva sent search parties to every corner of the world to find Sita. If you visit Hampi today, you can climb Anjaneya Hill, which people honor as Hanuman's birthplace.
